Welcome to Sunset Hills
Dear Sunset Hills families,
I am looking forward to starting the 2023-2024 school year with you and your children. The Sunset Hill’s staff have been busy planning this new school year since April, so we are excited to get started!
The mission statement at Sunset Hills states that we will create an environment where each student feels safe, valued, and inspired to be their authentic self. We are committed to the well-being of every student by focusing on academic, social, and emotional growth to support our students in becoming global citizens.
Last year we had a great year as we won the Inclusive Practices School of Excellence award, launched a new behavior program (PBIS - Positive Behavior Interventions, and Supports), and continued to reflect, grow, and define a positive, personalized, and inclusive school culture. I am very proud of our hard working staff and their commitment to our Seagulls!
As each year brings new beginnings, we are looking forward to our continued professional growth as a staff in order to deliver the very best to your children. Our staff are committed to providing individualized instruction to students as they engage in rigorous, relevant, and representative curriculum.
We believe that parents/guardians are an important part of the learning process. Parents/guardians, teachers, and administration must partner together to help the students achieve the high academic and behavior expectations. By working with each other, we can help every child realize their greatest potential. I’m looking forward to partnering with you and making this another productive and exciting year for our students!
Be on the lookout for more information regarding the beginning of the year logistics which will be coming out next week. Information regarding ESS and Preschool will also be coming to you soon. School supply lists can be found on our website.
