Hours - 6:30 am to 6:00 pm

Late Pick Up - A late pick-up fee will be assessed when a child is left beyond ESS operating hours. The late pick-up fee does not constitute an agreement for the ESS to provide after hours service, nor will the late fee be applied toward monthly fees. Chronic lateness at closing time may be grounds for termination of enrollment, per Parent Handbook. Late pick-up fees will be charged as follows:

00 to 10 minutes late, the late pick up fee is $1.00 per minute per child
11 to 30 minutes late, the pick-up fee is $30.00 per child
31 to 60 minutes late, the late pick up fee is $60.00 per child

Admission - The E.S.S. program is open to TK through 5th grade students. Children who will attend Kindergarten in the fall are eligible to enroll and attend E.S.S. the summer before they start school.

Registration - A completed registration packet and fees must be received prior to entry into the E.S.S. program. Packets are available online or at the ESS building at each site. Please contact the Supervisor or Lead Assistant for a packet.

Fees - Please click on link to the left for monthly breakdown.
**There is a registration fee per family per year and a reentry fee after dropping from the program for any length of time.

Summer Program Fees: include all field trip admission fees, guest speakers, summer t-shirts, and an afternoon snack.

Fees are due on the first day of each month. A fee will be assessed if payment is not received after the 15th of the month. The E.S.S. program is self supporting and financially independent of the Poway Unified School District.

District Recess/Break Fees -Check the fee schedule for rates. Registration for all breaks and recesses is for the entire recess or break duration. (No single days)

Sign In and Out- Students must be checked in and out of E.S.S. daily. Only an authorized person with a picture I.D. can check a child out of E.S.S. Your child is expected at E.S.S. each day. Please notify us whenever your child WILL NOT attend E.S.S.

Vacation for Full Time and PM ESS Students: Monthly fees can be prorated only when a two-week notice has been given on a "Fee Adjustment Request" form. This is for full time contracts only. Credit is given in five-day increments only and each child is allowed two weeks per school year, excluding Winter Break, President's Week, and Spring Break (these are optional attendance time frames). If you choose to extend the two-week allotment, a withdrawal from the program is required. There are no refunds for absences due to illness or partial attendance. We are closed Thanksgiving and Winter Recesses.

Illness and Medication: If your child is not feeling well, please do not send them to E.S.S. Students who have been ill must be fever free, for 24 hours before returning to E.S.S. or school. If your child becomes ill or suspected to be contagious, you will be notified to pick them up promptly. It is very important that you keep us updated on changes in work, home, cell, and emergency phone numbers.

E.S.S. will administer medication (prescription or non-prescription) to students only if a PUSD "Authorization for Medical Administration" form has been completed by a physician and parent. All medication must be in the original container. Sunscreen, chapstick and non-medicated cough drops need only the parent's portion of the form filled in and signed.
